During the pandemic, the Friends of Oak Cliff Parks would have been lost without the volunteer help from a group of missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and members of the Oak Cliff Branch of the Young Men's Service League. The regular contributions from these two groups have made a huge difference in our parks.
Thanks to everyone braving these warm summer mornings. We will continue with summer hours from 8:30 to 10:30 or it is too hot to work.
Please bring reusable water bottles and I recommend hats to help protect you from the sun. Some of the parks have fire ants so please wear shoes and socks. If you have garden gloves, hand garden tools like trowels or hand clippers, please bring those as well. FOCP will have gloves and tools to lend those who do not have them.
As always, come when you can and feel free to leave when your schedule requires or it gets too hot.
If you have questions or would like to set up a workday for a community group, please contact info@friendsofoakcliffparks.org
Friends of Oak Cliff Parks volunteers are invited to help provide leadership for any of the work days that involve outside groups. Please let Ellen (elfitz49@gmail.com) know if you can help with those work days.
