Oak Cliff Garden Forum to host the District X Fall Convention - Learn all about Pollinators. Join us for the event - sharpen your gardening skills
The District X - Texas Garden Clubs, Inc fall convention, being hosted by the Oak Cliff Garden Forum, is set for the morning of November 6th at Maracas Mexican Cocina in Deep Ellum. The convention will be an exciting opportunity for participants to enjoy a morning of education, food, music, plants, garden items and camaraderie. This event is also fund raising event for both the Oak Cliff
Garden Forum and District X with proceeds going to further programs that promote the love of gardening, Floral design, horticulture, civic responsibility , landscaping and environmental concerns.
Dallas Parks Department’s Urban Biologist, Brett Johnson will be our featured speaker for the Fall Convention this November, with a presentation on “pollinators”. Brett is the Senior Environmental Coordinator/Urban Biologist, a position he has held for approximately four years. He oversees various aspects of land stewardship throughout the park system. Prior to coming to the city, he was an Urban Wildlife Biologist with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the DFW region. Brett has a BS in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences from Texas A&M, and an MS form Texas Tech. He is currently a certified wildlife biologist and a licensed arborist and pesticide applicator. The Dallas Parks Department is an official sponsor of the Convention.
